Upstate Chiropractic Care believes in a balanced approach, utilizing both traditional chiropractic techniques as well as other contemporary modalities to help each patient enhance the function of their body.
Chiropractic care was founded on the premise that the maintained integrity of the spinal column can enhance and optimize neurological function throughout the body.
In doing so, it can result in the alleviation and resolution of many common health issues that so many people often experience. Issues such as back and hip pain, neck pain, headaches, muscle stiffness/tension as well as a host of others.
When the structure of the body is stabilized, function is optimized, and you live better.
Dr. Jerad F. King D.C.
Chiropractic Physician
Dr. King entered the chiropractic profession organically. Upon completion of his Bachelor’s degree from Western New England University, he experienced a renewed interest in wellness and functional approaches to health. He enrolled at Palmer College of Chiropractic in Florida where he obtained his Doctorate in Chiropractic. He is board certified, state licensed, and continues to further his education.
He is a native of the nearby Berkshires in western Massachusetts. Before relocating to the Catskills, he practiced there, experiencing firsthand the benefits many patients received as a result of chiropractic and functional care. He is passionate about the region, its beauty, all of its cultural and recreational offerings, as well as the wonderful people that comprise it.
Dr. King, along with many people, have seen a shift in the healthcare landscape. It is one that encourages more of an active approach to self care through prevention, nutrition, alternative approaches, mobility, and the like. His mission is to help as many people as possible optimize their health and well being, and facilitate this increasingly proven message.
Testimonials
Benefits of Care
A notable selection of excerpts highlighting the range of benefits from chiropractic care.
Reduction in Pain
"Manual-thrust manipulation provides greater short-term reductions in self-reported disability and pain compared with usual medical care. 94% of the manual-thrust manipulation group achieved greater than 30% reduction in pain compared with 69% of usual medical care."
— Schneider et al (2015), Spine
Medicare Patients + Cronic Low Back Pain
"Older Medicare patients with chronic low back pain and other medical problems who received spinal manipulation from a chiropractic physician had lower costs of care and shorter episodes of back pain than patients in other treatment groups. Patients who received a combination of chiropractic and medical care had the next lowest Medicare costs, and patients who received medical care only incurred the highest costs."
— Weeks et al (2016), Journal of Manipulative and Physiological Therapeutics
Low Back Pain Treatment
“Many treatments are available for low back pain. Often exercises and physical therapy can help. Some people benefit from chiropractic therapy or acupuncture.”
— Goodman et al. (2013), Journal of the American Medical Association
Reduced Surgery Odds
"Reduced odds of surgery were observed for...those whose first provider was a chiropractor. 42.7% of workers [with back injuries] who first saw a surgeon had surgery, in contrast to only 1.5% of those who saw a chiropractor."
— Keeney et al (2012), Spine
Improvement of Headaches
“Cervical spine manipulation was associated with significant improvement in headache outcomes in trials involving patients with neck pain and/or neck dysfunction and headache.”
— McCrory, Penzlen, Hasselblad, Gray (2001), Duke Evidence Report
Largest and Most Regulated Alternative Medicine
“Chiropractic is the largest, most regulated, and best recognized of the complementary and alternative medicine (CAM) professions. CAM patient surveys show that chiropractors are used more often than any other alternative provider group and patient satisfaction with chiropractic care is very high. There is steadily increasing patient use of chiropractic in the United States, which has tripled in the past two decades.”
— Meeker, Haldeman (2002), Annals of Internal Medicine

Hill DT Decompression Table
The Hill DT spinal decompression table employs sophisticated load sensor technology which constantly measures and monitors the treatment force and patient-resistance of every treatment.
The HillDT table's technology means dramatically better outcomes because the patient experiences far less muscle-guarding than with other designs. In most cases, the patient is able to painlessly leave the table within seconds and with very little soreness to follow.
Candidates for treatment include but not limited to:
Disc injuries
Degenerative conditions
Postural conditions
Chronic neck and lower back pain
